Published February 19th, 2010

RM Auctions, announces the consignment of cars with a NASCAR connection to its annual ‘Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale’ event, March 26th – 28th in Florida.

Taking pole position is a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS NASCAR, raced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Challenging for the lead is a 2003 Ford Fusion NASCAR, raced by Mark Martin and David Ragan with many strong finishes, and setting the pace is a low-mileage 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Coupe, one of two built for the 2007 Budweiser Shootout at the Daytona International Speedway. The line-up also includes a custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe, specially built for off-track driving by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“Regarded as South Florida’s premier collector car event, our Fort Lauderdale auction is shaping up to be an exciting one, offering a diverse selection of over 400 American and European classics, exotic sports cars and Detroit muscle, many without reserve,” says Donnie Gould, RM partner and a 30 year veteran in the collector car hobby.
“As the nation’s most popular spectator sport, public fascination with NASCAR Cup cars is a strong draw to the event,” he adds.
Other highlights of the sale include a one-off 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, custom built by General Motors’ stylist Bill Mitchell for industrialist and Indianapolis racing sponsor Ozzie Olson; and a great range of ’50s and ’60s classics, including a desirable 1957 Ford Thunderbird “E-Code” Convertible, which was displayed at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas from 1988 through 2007.
RM’s ‘Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale’ event will be held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Centre on March 26th – 28th. For further information, please call +1 954-566-2209 or visit www.rmauctions.com
