Antique Clocks for Fontaine Auction Nov 8
Published October 25th, 2008
Over 500 vintage antique clocks – many of them very rare, museum-quality pieces, to include an E. Howard astronomical #61 floor regulator – will be sold in a two-session sale slated for Saturday, Nov. 8, by Fontaine’s Auction Gallery, beginning at 10 a.m. The sale will be held at Fontaine’s spacious showroom facility, located at 1485 West Housatonic Street in Pittsfield, Mass.
A Discovery Session will kick off the action, featuring over 200 uncatalogued clocks. Bidders must be in person, at the gallery, to preview and bid on these lots, as they are uncatalogued and will be sold as-is. The Main Catalog Session, with about 300 cataloged clocks, will be sold in numbered order, starting at 1 p.m. These lots may be bid on at the gallery; by phone or absentee bid; or via the Internet.
Internet bidding will be facilitated through multiple platforms — Proxibid, eBay Live Auctions and a new player in the online bidding arena, www.auctionnetwork.com. Auctionnetwork.com will broadcast live streaming video of the auction, in high-definition, and provide viewers with real-time, interactive bidding, as well as exclusive lot previews and many emotional stories associated with them.
Previews will be held Friday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. A free, full-color catalog is available by calling 413-448-8922. Fontaine’s Auction Gallery is always accepting quality consignments for future sales. To consign a single item, an estate or an entire collection, you may call them directly, at 413-448-8922. Or, e-mail them at info@fontaineauction.com.
