Comic Auction Success at Heritage

Published October 18th, 2008

The Sunday, Oct. 12, auction ended as one of the most successful weekly sales Heritage has had, with a total of more than $127,000 realized.

In the Sunday, Oct. 5, Internet Auction, the surprise of the night was a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, CGC graded 2.0, sold for $3,346, the highest GPAnalysis recorded price by $800, and certainly more than expected in-house. Hulk #1 also showed it was still ready and able to smash when a 2.5 CGC-graded comic hammered at $1,673; Fantastic Four #1, CGC-Graded 1.8, brought $1,196; Daredevil #1, CGC-graded 6.0 moved quickly to $996, and an Avengers #1, with a 4.5 CGC grading, finished with a price of $896.

The trend continued on the Sunday, Oct. 12, Internet auction, with top lots in the sale including a copy of X-Men #1, Justice League #1 and, once more, both Daredevil and Hulk #1s. All established GPAnalysis high prices for their respective grades, with a Jimmy Olsen #53, which was expected to do well, soaring well-beyond its estimate and selling for 25 times guide price.
