Von Braun Drawings Auction

Bonhams auctioneers said the drawings, could sell for $25,000 or more.
“The drawings are really astounding from a historical perspective, and the fact that von Braun’s big, bold signature is there adds greatly to their value,” said Matthew Haley, a spokesman for Bonhams.
The drawings, which were the basis for the popular 1950s “Man Will Conquer Space Soon” series of articles in Collier’s magazine,
Fred Ordway, who worked on rocket design with von Braun in the 1950s, said “There is no doubt in my mind it helped fan the flames of imagination for space exploration. You can see the linear progression from Collier’s, to Sputnik, to John F. Kennedy’s announcement about landing a man on the moon,”
