Bertoia Auctions Kaufman Toy Collection Sale Rescheduled to March 20-21 2009

Published July 20th, 2008

Bertoia Auctions’ owner, Jeanne Bertoia, has announced that the opening session of an ongoing auction series featuring the world-renowned Donald Kaufman toy collection is being moved up to March 20-21, 2009. Originally the debut session had been scheduled for one week later, but the unusually early dates selected for Atlantique City’s spring 2009 show necessitated a date change.

“After conferring with Mr. Kaufman, who was very gracious and understanding about it, we made the decision to move the sale up by one week to the new dates of March 20-21,” said Jeanne Bertoia. “Neither Mr. Kaufman nor Bertoia Auctions wanted to make it difficult for toy collectors to attend both events. This is such an important collection, we know every fan of antique automotive, comic character and European wind-up toys is going to want to be at the opening session.”

Bertoia’s will offer the Kaufman Collection in a series of semiannual sales over a period of two years, and possibly longer. The second offering of toys from the Kaufman Collection will be auctioned at Bertoia’s gallery on Sept. 25-26.
