Anthracite Museum to Auction Off Unneeded Objects

Published June 5th, 2008

The Anthracite Heritage Museum at McDade Park has contributed 49 unneeded objects from its collection to the auction being run by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission in Harrisburg. It is one of six museums or historical sites to join the sale.

All the Anthracite Heritage Museum’s objects in the auction were reviewed by both the museum’s staff and the state commission before being designated for sale.

The proceeds from the auction will be placed into a fund the museum can use for the future acquisition or conservation of artifacts.

The sale, part of the state Department of General Services’ auction of surplus property, begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Farm Show Complex, 2300 N. Cameron St.
