Santa Rosa Townhouse Auction

Orange County-based homebuilder Standard Pacific Corp will auction 17 townhouses – more than half of those built – at its Avondale subdivision in southeast Santa Rosa.
“Originally, there was a lot of negativity” associated with auctions because they give “the appearance that there is some kind of a problem or crisis,” said Steve Melander, project manager for Standard Pacific. “But in this case we’ve been convinced that this is a good way to do a mass marketing effort, stand back from the process and get some pretty good results.”
