With a two-day sales total of $2.3 million, this year’s March in Montana Art Auction at the Townhouse Inn, Great Falls Montana, soared above previous years’ totals.
“We smashed our record big time,” said Bob Nelson, owner of Manitou Galleries, a partner in the private art show.
Saturday’s auction brought in about $1.8 million, which added to the about $500,000 in sales on Friday. The weekend total topped the previous record, set last year, by about $800,000, Nelson said.
