Moultrie surplus auctions going online
Published March 15th, 2008
Moultrie has selected GovDeals, a state-of- the-art, online auction service for local, state and federal government agencies, to conduct online sales of its surplus equipment and assets.
Moultrie joins 120 governments in Georgia and more than 1,100 governments across the country who have adopted GovDeals’ patented online auction solution that delivers pre-screened and qualified buyers and which translates into higher prices for auctioned equipment and assets.
“GovDeals will help us get the most money for our surplus vehicles and equipment by allowing us to offer them to a wider base of buyers,” said Gwen Smith, director of purchasing. “We can sell online as soon as an item is declared surplus, which reduces depreciation and storage costs. It is a win-win solution for us.”
The first auction is on Monday, March 17.
