Bast Estate Donates Rare Boonsborough Clock, Auction Preview To Benefit Library

The family of the late John Harlan Bast, Jr., a lifelong and well known resident of Boonsboro, Maryland, has recently donated to the new Boonsboro branch of the Washington County Free Library, a very rare Johnston and Melhorn labeled Boonsborough and Hagerstown mantel clock. The clock will be placed on permanent display in the new library building opening in March.

A preview for Mr. Bast’s auction of fine antiques, clocks and furniture will also benefit the new Boonsboro Library, will all proceeds going to the library. The benefit preview will be held at the Cochran Auction Theater in Boonsboro, on Thursday evening, March 6, between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m., with the auction being held on March 8.
