Galveston Rosenberg Library to auction 21 items

Art, history and antique furniture buffs should plan to be at the Rosenberg Library on Saturday when the organization will auction off 21 pieces of its history.

The Rosenberg Library opened in 1904 and is the oldest public library in Texas in continuous operation, according to the The Handbook of Texas.

It was established with an endowment of more than $600,000 from the estate of fabled Galveston businessman Henry Rosenberg, according to the handbook. galvestondailynews.com
