A DeKalb County man wants to further promote Auburn’s automotive heritage and establish the world headquarters of his classic car auction company in southern DeKalb County.

John Kruse is a member of investment group RIJ Holdings LLC, which has purchased a 62-acre site on C.R. 72 (the DeKalb-Allen county line), immediately east of Interstate 69.

Later this month, RIJ Holdings will ask the DeKalb County Plan Commission to change the site’s zoning from residential to general business. A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners Court at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Auburn.
