Barbara Koegel/Interior Design Auction – Jan 13

Published January 11th, 2008

More than 400 specialty pieces t will be auctioned Sunday at Barbara Koegel/Interior Design, as the 79-year-old businesswoman nears retirement.

“It seems like a dignified way for me to go out of business,” said Koegel from her showroom office earlier this week.

Koegel said she’s known for five years that she would close her showroom, 2732 Flushing Road in Flint, when she turns 80 on May 1.

The auction is open to the public and begins at 11 a.m. Doors will open at 9 a.m. for viewing.

“There are no minimum bids or reserve,” said auctioneer Paul Sadows of Sadows Auction Galleries in Clarkston. “It’s a real opportunity for a novice to come in and maybe get some great buys.”
