Over $2 Million Realized in Heritage Jewelry Auction
Published January 5th, 2008
Heritage Auction Galleries’ latest auction of Fine Jewelry and Timepieces, which included pieces by such noted designers as Oscar Heyman, Leverington, Audemars Piguet, and Gregg Ruth, held on December 3, 2007 in Dallas, Texas, realized $2,075,811 for 625 lots offered.
“This was a very strong event,” said Jill Burgum, Director of Jewelry Auctions for Dallas-based Heritage, “nearly doubling the results of our last auction, which we held in May 2007. Heritage is committed to developing the fine jewelry market, a commitment that is easily seen in results like these. Participation in this auction – live on the floor, on the phone, and on the Internet, especially through our Heritage Live venue – was extremely strong, with spirited bidding resulting in some very solid prices.”
“We’re already working on our Spring 2008 offering,” Burgum said, “and I’d invite anyone interested in this fascinating field to watch the upcoming auction grow on our website, www.HA.com, where they’ll see full-color enlargeable images of each and every lot, complete with our thorough and informative catalog descriptions, as they’re added. As the auction draws nearer, they’ll even be able to place bids online.”
