Delsie Mae Hersman collection auctioned

The late Delsie Mae Hersman’s collection that included more than 400 rooster figurines, an 11-foot-tall gold and marble Victorian mirror and a Rolex valued at $24,000 have been sold.

Her 1,500-piece collection that included items from the country-style restaurant and Hersman’s home were sold Saturday at auction.

A pair of golden roosters fetched about $500. A large metal one sold for $600. The collection also included letters from Byrd and other politicians, a necklace fashioned from a Liberty Gold coin and diamond jewelry.
