Miami International Airport To Auction Off Unclaimed Lost And Found Items
Published July 27th, 2007
Unclaimed items in the lost and found at Miami International Airport will go up for auction Saturday morning.
Paul May the auctioneer, said “We’ve been doing this for about 10 years,” May said. “We have lots of suitcases, cell phones, cameras, laptops. Probably the oddest thing is somebody left a washing machine here. I don’t know what they’re doing with it in the terminal, it’s kind of an odd thing.”
A new iMac, the latest Macintosh computer, will also be up for sale along with a guitar, camcorders, headphones and other electronic equipment.
Anything that has been left at the airport more than 60 days is fair game, airport authorities said.
It costs $3 to get in the auction. The doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the bidding starts at 9:30 a.m.
It is being held at an airport building at 5600 Northwest 36th St.
