A Rensselaer Wal-Mart Manager faces 10 felony counts after being accused of defrauding at least eight Internet users out of thousands of dollars. The accused allegedly did this by offering NASCAR collectibles, via online sale, that were not in his possession.

Benjamin LaGuire, 29, of Lafayette attended his first court date June 15 after charges of corrupt business influence and nine counts of theft had been filed for crimes allegedly committed in 2004.

According to court documents, LaGuire offered NASCAR collectibles, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. die-cast cars, for sale on eBay’s online auction site.

Court documents list eight known victims from eight different states who paid a total of about $8,300 for the collectibles, which were never delivered.
