Oregon man wins world auctioneer contest

Trent Stewart was named 2007 World Livestock Auctioneer Champion Saturday in Springfield, cattlenetwork.com reported.
The Redmond, Ore., man received the title at the 44th annual contest at the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center.
Ty Thompson of Billings, Mont., was named reserve world champion and Tom Frey of Creston, Iowa, was the runner-up world champion.
Stewart won $5,000 and one-year use of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab LT from Lindsay Chevrolet of Lebanon.
