A rare, majestic 10th-century Indian granite sculpture of the Hindu god Shiva fetched US$4.07 million Friday morning at Sotheby’s in New York, slightly above the US$4 million high estimate. It is an auction record for classical Indian art.

Anna Nicole Smith’s private thoughts written in two diaries have been sold for more than $500,000 to a German businessman who planned to sell the information to media outlets, an auction house official said.

Michigan Judge sued by auction company accused of underselling classic car

A Michigan judge is being sued by a collector car auction company after he accused the firm of underselling his classic vehicle.
David Clabuesch said his 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda sold for $300,000 at Scottsdale’s Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in January but the muscle car should have fetched $700,000 to $1 million.
