19th-century Berks County tall-case clock makes $16600 at Horst auction

An early-19th-century Berks County tall-case clock rang up $16,600 at a recent two-day antique sale at Horst Auctioneers, Ephrata, which grossed $142,333.
Bidding opened at $3,100 for the 7-foot-6-inch-high Federal inlaid walnut eight-day clock, signed “John Guth,” Bern Township. The front base panel had a vertical crack.
