eBay cancel Order of Canada medal auction

Published January 4th, 2007

The Medal of Service, issued nearly 40 years ago to noted Quebec historian Gustave Lanctot, was pulled from the site because it violated EBay’s policy banning the sale of government property. Federal officials have said that, while the award is personal, the decoration itself remains the property of the Crown.

Bidding had reached $12,000
