Dozens of autographed items ranging from baseballs and guitars to photos and one-of-a-kind self-portraits have been donated.
The money raised will help pay for a memorial to the 23 McLennan County peace officers who have died in the line of duty.
Donors include sports legends, Hollywood a-list actors and music industry icons.
Sergeant Jan Price with the Waco Police Department said, “George Foreman, Al Pacino, Richard Gere, Matthew McConaughey, gosh, there’s been so many, President Bush.” The auction is Saturday at Red Man Hall in Waco. Tickets are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. Since July, $35,000 has been raised for the memorial which will be built in Indian Spring Park.
