The historical McPherson mansion off North Michigan Avenue in Howell sold for $892,500 in an auction Saturday.

Auctioneer Roger Andersen said the owner, Pinckney’s Gloria Neville, can still reject the offer. He planned on calling her later in the day.

The tentative winning bidder wished to remain anonymous until the deal went through, but would say she is a business owner from Brighton.
