Toledo Police vehicle auction raises $78,230

The Toledo Police Department sold 100 abandoned vehicles and three forfeited vehicles at an auction yesterday, raising $78,230.
The public auction was held at the police impound lot, 198 Dura Ave., and drew 311 bidders, Officer Kathy Trautman said.
The abandoned vehicles brought in $76,680, which will go to the city’s general operating fund.
The three forfeited vehicles brought in $1,550, which will go to the department’s law enforcement trust fund.
The next auction is set for Dec. 2. There is no registration fee, but auctiongoers are asked to bring a picture identification.
