New livestock auction to open in Sioux Falls

Published October 8th, 2006

The new Sioux Falls Regional Livestock auction market is scheduled to hold its first sale on Oct. 16, providing area livestock producers with a new marketing option.

”This new livestock auction market gives producers more options and more days to sell cattle,” said Roger Koedam, co-owner of Sioux Falls Regional Livestock and owner of Sheldon Livestock for 30 years.

Locally owned and operated, the new 250,000 square-foot state-of the art livestock auction facility will serve livestock producers from a five-state area. It is located east of the interchange of Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 18. Sioux Falls Regional Livestock will hold sales three days a week — Monday, feeder cattle; Wednesday, slaughter cattle; and Thursday, sheep and goats.
