Tennessee Georgia Raceway and Auto Auction Sold Separately
Published October 2nd, 2006
The historic Tennessee Georgia Raceway and Auto Auction went on the auction block Saturday morning with the fate of both businesses uncertain. At the close of the bidding, the reserve was met and the businesses were sold separately.
Randy Parker, local auto dealer, purchased the auto auction.
George Shaw will be the new owner and promoter of the Tennessee Georgia Raceway.
Mr. Shaw said that he may hold one more race before the close of 2006 and reopen in mid-March 2007. When asked what name the facility may have upon reopening, he hinted that it could possibly go by its original name of Boyd’s Speedway.
The auction was handled by the local auctioneering firm, Gravitt Auction.
