135th-annual Jefferson County Fair

The 135th-annual Jefferson County Fair has begun, and the fun will continue at Friendship Park through Sunday, Aug. 20.
Flags from representing 4-H, Boy and Girl Scouts and the FFA, as well as the Jefferson County flag, Ohio flag and U.S. flag were presented while Bonnie Murphy sang the national anthem during the opening ceremonies Monday.
Also during Monday’s ceremonies, Ty Justice, Ohio Fair Managers district director, was recognized.
A ribbon-cutting was led by Gary Cain, who was given the honor for his many years of serving as auctioneer for the junior fair livestock auction.
