Evansville polluted air on eBay

Evansville resident Carly Cresswell-Watson is advertising the bag of air on the Internet auction site eBay to draw attention to the region’s air pollution.
“I wanted to do this for my little environmental group — five or six ladies who get together to try to solve environmental problems down here,” said Cresswell-Watson, who moved to Evansville five years ago.
Cresswell-Watson, who has 1- and 5-year-old sons, said she was shocked to find that what she thought was an idyllic locale sits in an area of one of the greatest concentrations of coal-burning power plants in the nation.
“We had an entire week of horrible air pollution and were shrouded in particulate matter,” said Cresswell-Watson, who posted the advertisement last Friday. “I was up late one night selling a few things on eBay and it sort of came to me: Why not sell a little baggie of air pollution?”
As of Thursday evening, two people had bid, offering a high of $2.25.
