Iowa Deputy Accused Of Listing Fire Equipment On eBay

A Fremont County, Iowa, deputy is under arrest on suspicion that he stole fire equipment and tried to sell it on eBay.

The allegations follow a raid on the Hamburg Fire Hall. Fremont County Sheriff Steve MacDonald said that Deputy Bob L. Davis is charged with stealing everything from helmets and facemasks with voice amplification systems to badges and other various fire equipment. In all, the missing equipment is worth about $5,000, MacDonald said.

MacDonald said that Davis claims he thought the equipment was worthless surplus that wasn’t in use.
