Univision shares fall as auction doubts linger

Published June 27th, 2006

Shares of Univision Communications Inc. (UVN.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the No. 1 Spanish language broadcaster in the United States that put itself up for sale earlier this year, fell nearly 3 percent on Monday amid doubts surrounding the company’s messy auction.

One bidding group unraveled last week, with three large private equity bidders dropping out and offers surfacing that were much lower than the $40 per share, or $12 billion, analysts and investors had expected.
