Published June 22nd, 2006
Farmland Industries Inc.’s former headquarters near Kansas City International Airport will be auctioned for sale, the property’s auctioneer announced on Wednesday.
Sealed bids are due Aug. 17 to Sheldon Good & Co. Auctions LLC of Chicago. The bids will be evaluated and a decision will be made within 10 days.
The building at 12200 N. Ambassador Drive is vacant.
Pritzker Realty Group LP, the building’s Chicago-based owner, listed the property for sale in February 2005 for $20 million, or $77 a square foot.
Farmland filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2002. Bankruptcy proceedings allowed it reject a lease on its headquarters building that ran through 2015.
