Auction It Today expanding into Colorado

The Auction It Today Inc. chain of eBay consignment stores has debuted in Colorado with locations in Evergreen and Idaho Springs.

More stores and drop-off kiosks for goods to be auctioned on eBay are planned for Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock, Centennial, Parker, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.

Auction It Today is one of several so-called eBay drop-off chains — also including ISold It on eBay, AuctionDrop and QuikDrop — that sells items on the online auction site for customers for a fee. Goods sold via such locations can range from sporting goods, home electronics and even cars to vintage Barbie dolls and dresses worn by celebrities.

“Colorado’s economy and demographics are an ideal fit for the Auction It Today business owner,” Rick Rolph, Auction It Today Colorado’s area owner and franchise developer, said in a statement.

Founded in 2004 in Brighton, Mich., Auction It Today has a total of 115 franchised stores and kiosks nationwide, plus locations in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Kuwait and the United Kingdom.

In 2005, the company reported $15 million in sales.
