Black Hills Flyfishers auction

Published May 5th, 2006

The Black Hills Flyfishers will be having its annual auction Saturday, May 13, at the Journey Museum in Rapid City.

The purpose of the auction is to raise money for conservation projects in the Black Hills.

This will be the 25th year of the auction, which will include more than 100 items during silent and live bidding, including rods, reels, flies, clothing, guided fishing and hunting trips, clothing and more.

“We have something for everyone,” Black Hills Flyfishers president Jim Hawke said. “If you’re interested in learning to fly fish, you can set yourself up with an entire outfit. If you’re not interested in fishing, you’ll still find something you’ll like.”

The money raised from the auction is used for stream improvement and other conservation projects, as well as a youth program sponsored by the Black Hills Flyfishers.
