Hudson man to go on trial for online auction fraud

A federal jury has been empaneled for the trial of a 21-year-old Hudson man on six counts of mail and
Michael R. Deppe is accused in US District Court in Worcester of bilking customers out of Super Bowl tickets in 2005 in an alleged Internet scam. During pretrial testimony, a federal investigator alleged that Deppe said he purchased Super Bowl tickets from the Out of Town Ticket Agency in Harvard Square for resale, but never delivered the tickets to customers who bought them.
Deppe has also pleaded guilty to 10 counts of mail and wire fraud in connection with selling Rolex watches and other luxury goods over the Internet.
The indictment alleges Deppe scammed a total of 68 individuals out of $370,000 in Super Bowl tickets and merchandise.
