Auction for Bankrupt Home Systems Firm - March 23, Westlake, Ohio

On Oct. 25, 2005, Digital Convergence Systems filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and now hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment will be auctioned on March 23 at the former DCS offices.
Up for grabs are electronics from the likes of AMX, Elan, Pioneer Elite, Control4, JVC, Stewart Filmscreen, Honeywell, Lutron and Greyfox. There are home theater chairs, spools of cable, and TV cabinets. And there are computers, vans and a large-format plotter.
A list from August 31, 2005 itemizes $365,000 in trade-related inventory.
Among the largest product-related creditors are Control 4 ($39,000), Digital Projection ($35,000) and Lutron ($24,000).
Tom Coffin left DCS in July 2005 to become chief operating officer of Textar Intelligent Systems, an integration company based in Addison, Tex. He still owns 10 percent of DCS. The rest is owned by Terry Mosier (51%) who became CEO in 2003, and Frank Mosier (39%).
