New Orleans Auction Galleries Resumes Regular Schedule for 2006
Published March 13th, 2006
In a rather gutsy decision last fall, New Orleans Auction Galleries decided to start up sales in its storm-damaged city on November 18-20, 2005, the weekend before Thanksgiving. The auction was extended to three days to compensate for a missed date after Hurricane Katrina. Although there was less damage to business and historic districts than in low-lying areas, the recovery of the city had barely begun, and the future of the city remains shadowed by many problems.
