A self-service car and truck wash in Delta, IA, is being sold by unreserved auction for the first time ever at a Ritchie Bros. auction in Chicago, on March 10, according to a Feb. 16 Ritchie Bros. press release.”It definitely is an unusual occurrence to see a carwash in an unreserved auction, and for us it’s the first time we’ve ever sold one,” Ritchie Bros. Real Estate Auction Division Sales Manager, Will McLemore stated in the release.”An unreserved auction, like the one that this carwash is in, means that every item sells on sales day to the highest bidder, regardless of the price” McLemore said in the release. “There are no minimum bids and no reserve prices. It is up to the crowd to decide the final price on auction day.” The Mighty Good Car Wash includes three bays, in-floor heat, a water heating system, a time/temperature sign, and many more features, the release said. Ritchie Bros., based in Lincoln, NE, is the world’s largest auctioneer of industrial equipment with over 110 locations in more than 25 countries.
