Babe Ruth bat sells for $68,750

A Babe Ruth professional model bat sold for $68,750 at auction Saturday at the Louisville Slugger Museum.
The event was the second annual auction at the museum. The Ruth bat was estimated to be from between 1925 and 1928. About 500 items were up for sale.
Among the items was a tobacco card collection, which included a 1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson baseball card which sold for $17,825.
A baseball signed by legendary New York Yankees Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Ruth sold for $26,400. A photo of the Cleveland Naps Addie Joss Day All-Star benefit team from 1911 fetched a price of $49,500. A Roy Campanella bat from 1956 sold for $18,700.
The auction was performed by Hunt Auctions of Exton, Pa.
