A london couple have been found guilty of deception and money laundering after a two year Ebay fraud, during which they made more than £300′000, and bought a BMW and a flat in Forest Gate.
Nicolae Cretanu, 30, and his wife Adriana, 23 worked for crime bosses in romania, offering non-exisen items for sale on the internet auction.
Buyers would bid on the items and were alwats outbid by one of the pair. All of the bidders would then recieve an email, saying that the seller had an identical item for sale. If they wished to buy, they would be told to wire their payments to England, and their good would be shipped to them.Though it’s standard practise on internet auction sites to wait for the money to clear before shipping the goods, in this case, none of the buyers ever recieved the goods.
