Reading Public Museum paintings auction

One hundred years after its establishment in 1904 by a Reading School District teacher, the Reading Public Museum took a look at its 850 paintings and decided to prune the collection.
Next Friday, the 348 American and European works subsequently slated for deaccessioning will be sold by Pook & Pook Inc. at a fine-art auction beginning at 6 p.m. at its gallery in Downingtown.
The sale is one of three next week that will feature paintings and prints.
Previews are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to sale time (6 p.m.) next Friday at the gallery, 463 E. Lancaster Ave. For more information, call 610-269-4040 or go to www.pookandpook.com.
