Sotheby’s New York Jewels Auction

Sotheby’s Important Jewels auction in New York earned US$5.3 million from 237 lots out of 341. Included in the list of prominent items sold were a 5.58 carat, D-Flawless diamond ring for US$385,600 and a 12.42 carat, Fancy Intense Yellow, VVS1 diamond ring for US$168,000. The sale also featured a pair of diamond pendant-earrings, circa 1915 that earned US$60,000 and an aquamarine and diamond clip, Cartier, London, circa 1935 that brought in US$32,400. “We are please with the results of our Important Jewels sale which achieved a total of US$5,346,080. Top quality diamonds dominated the top-selling lots with strong pieces realized across the board,” says Lisa Hubbard, Executive Director of Sotheby’s jewelry department
