Glenn Beck Begins Online Auction for Katrina

One of Premiere Radio Networks’ top talk show hosts Glenn Beck and his 8 million-plus listeners are joining the campaign to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims.
Beck is hosting an online auction of high-ticket items to raise money for disaster relief, Kevin M. Balfe, who is heading up the auction for Beck, told NewsMax.
Charity Folks, which is conducting the auction, has waived all selling fees to aid The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund; so from 96.5 percent to 100 percent of the money bid on donated auction items will go directly to aid hurricane victims.
“My staff and I would like to thank all of our listeners for their extreme generosity in helping to make this one of the largest online auctions ever!” Beck writes on his Web site, www.glennbeck.com.
“We were so overwhelmed with donations that we were simply unable to keep up. I think the lots we chose represent an absolutely tremendous mix of items.”
Bidding on most items ends September 20.
