Christies New York to auction Asian Art on Sep 20-22

Christie’s hopes to raise a staggering $20-29 million from its Asian art sales in New York later this month that features a clutch of Indian artists - among them Tyeb Mehta and M.F. Husain - as well as works of art from China, Japan, South Korea and some Southeast Asian nations.Francis Newton Souza, Ram Kumar and Akbar Padamsee are among the other Indian artists featured at the Sep 20-22 auction. The Indian works are expected to fetch between $3.8-5.3 million, a Christie’s spokesperson said.
