Dermot Chichester, Chairman, and Rupert Banner, International Head of Christie’s Car Department: said
“At just under ten million dollars, our result marks a solid performance to the start of Monterey Peninsula week, and was consistent with the state of a car market that remains stable without being extravagant. We are delighted by the price of the Talbot Lago Teardrop, which makes it one of the most expensive cars ever sold at auction—and were particularly satisfied with the price achieved for the Bugatti Type 43A from the Bill Serri Collection.”
